A cable gland is how a cable enters a box without letting water in. You thread the body into the box, pass the cable through and tighten the cap until the rubber seal grips the jacket. The cap clicks as it tightens.
The kit holds five NPT thread sizes, each with its own cable range, from about 0.16 in for the 1/4 in gland to 0.98 in for the 1 in. The 38-piece kit stops at 3/4 in. Bodies are PA66 nylon and the seals are EPDM rubber.
What it will not do
Nylon glands are not for explosion-rated or high-heat places, which need metal ones.
Each gland seals a round cable. A flat cable will leak.

great kit! Very nice assortment of high quality cable glands. This is a great kit if you're not exactly sure your needs yet, has plenty to check your boxes. I use these on my Ford transit van. I didn't want to drill any holes in the roof and I found a factory hole with a plastic sticker over it.
