XHF 16 AWG Insulated Wire Ferrules

A ferrule is a short copper tube you slide over the stripped end of a stranded wire and crimp flat. Every strand ends up inside one clean pin, so nothing splays out of a screw terminal and nothing breaks off when you tighten the screw a second time.

We size these for 16 AWG, which is 1.5 mm² in the metric sizes you find on most European terminal blocks. We make the sleeve from tin-plated copper and the collar from nylon. The collar color is yours to choose, so you can keep one gauge in one color or code circuits by color on the same rail.

Strip the wire to the length of the metal sleeve, push it in until the copper shows at the far end, and crimp with a ferrule crimper. Ordinary pliers flatten the tube instead of squeezing it round, and that crimp can let go.
